Alisanos is a Gaulish god of whom very little is known. Most of his legend and history have been lost to us and yet we do know that he was a symbol of stone and that though he was a Gaulish god he was also worshipped
in Britain.
This is simply one more link shared by the continental Celt and the Celt of Britain.
Footnote: Gaul: The ancient Greeks referred to this land as Galatia and the Latin name for the land was Gallia.
Gaul is the region of Western Europe, which encompasses the land mass of Western Switzerland, areas of the Netherlands, that part of Germany which falls on the West bank of the Rhine river and also, of course, Belgium and France.
As we know, the Celts were once considered to be one great tribe of people and splintered into various groups now known to make up the British nations and the European nations (and many from this same Celtic blood settling in the area now known as Russia).
Later in history, the Celts were so splintered into tribal factions that many of the inhabitants of the more southern areas of Europe began to refer to themselves in different terms and so the term Celt was used to refer to the inhabitants of the more Northern sections of
Europe.
Over time certain civilizations, which were once of Celtic origin such as the civilization of ancient Greece, became interbred with certain Arabic strains.
We see proof of this in the letter, which an ancient Greek politician wrote in regards to another politician's mistress. It was commented in the ancient letter, that no matter how much cosmetic application was used to whiten the skin, this man's mistress would never be considered a part of the ruling, Greek elite for her skin tone was not of a
Celtic hue. It was neither pale white nor was it a fair olive tone.
We know that the ancient Greeks considered skin tone to be very important and that anyone with a dark shade was not to be welcomed into the ruling class.
All artistic recordings of the culture and civilization showed marked Celtic features and yet in modern day Greece this is often not the case.
These examples are merely evidence that the Arabic nations did indeed influence much of what has come to be known as modern day Greece.
Much the same as in India, where many feel the Celts also settled, we see that the influence of non-Celtic nations was to be felt ,though it is to be noted that the pale skinned, ruling elite are thought to have been a Celtic people who did indeed move to this area and who then set up a caste system intended to keep the Celt-based peoples from inter-marrying with the brown skinned inhabitants, which had been found to be already living in this area.
This then explains the mystery of why one may find very fair inhabitants of India, each sporting very European features, as well as very brown skinned people in that region. They are, in fact, two separate races and are still very much inclined not to inter-marry.This practise is still
commonly dictated by historical custom even though many of the inhabitants of India do not know themselves what is the reasoning behind this ancient custom and are often not aware of the actual speculative history of their
nation's formation and origins.
We know that Celts went to such far-flung places as ancient Egypt to settle, and, of course, we know that for a great period in history the so-called Egyptian Kings and Queens were in fact of the Celtic-Greek origin, thanks to Alexander the Great.
We also know that racial tension was rife, as the darker skinned peoples of non-Celtic origin were kept in a class lower to those bearing the Celtic features.
In Britain, we see that the continental Celts settled the land and yet the Celts had already splintered into so many various European nations that they thought of themselves as different peoples and so warred amongst themselves in Britain as waves of new tribes of Celts came upon waves of other tribes of Celts.
The argument that Britain is not a land bearing one original people is a false one at best for truly it was simply one Celtic tribe after the other which all vied for supremacy throughout the islands' great history and yet still we can clearly see that even though the Celts had splintered and divided themselves into various nations, they still were,
whether they would have liked to acknowledge it or not, all simply varying political factions of the great original tribe known as the Celts.
One can look at it this way. The Anglo Saxons were simply a faction of the great, original tribe known as the Celts. The Normans were simply Celts who had originated from the very northerly area, which the Celts had settled, and who had moved south, so when the Anglo Saxons were fighting the Normans, it was actually Celt fighting Celt.
To this day, the Celts see themselves as peoples of distinct nations when in fact they are all from the same great and original tribe of Celts.
Britain was indeed settled by Celts and only by Celts though of course, the various factions of the original great tribe had formed varying nations over the course of time and history, thus we can safely say that Britain was settled by a distinct people and the name of
that great people was Celt.
If you ask the average, fair-skinned Italian, fair-skinned Spaniard, French individual, Dutch person, German, British person, fair skinned Russian, etc, etc, if they see that they have anything in common with other people from Britain to Europe to Russia, they will likely define themselves by national identity when in fact the British, European and Russian all have one thing in common and that is that they all originated from the one great tribe known as the Celtic peoples.
By studying the ancient gods we can clearly see the religious links between the British and the continental Celt and this is just one more way of studying the links between our Celtic ancestors.
As for the descendants of the British and continental Celts, many of their descendants moved to and settled in Canada, the United States, Australia,New Zealand, and so on.
This may seem an obvious thing to remark upon now, but it is always good to write statements like this down for the future generations to study, perhaps future generations far flung into the future yet to be, many thousands of years ahead.
This entire commentary leads us back to the simple topic of a god named Alisanos. Alisanos is just one more link between the continental Celt and the Celt of Britain, and, of course, that very much includes the Anglo Saxons of Britain.
Alisanos
'Twas a cauldron and a birthplace,
That core of the earth's bosom
Ever cradling the fires of creation.
Summoned forth from the flame,
Beckoned to by bright blue heavens.
Your soul rose from the very origins
Of the ocean-covered orb, spinning
As it ever did, through the mists
Of the ages, the early dawning times.
Your heartbeat is the ancient sigh,
Which haunts our every breath.
Your gaze is the reminder that mortal
Realms were ever tumultuous in essence
As is the life of every man though
Man would fight for peace upon
The foundations of the very stone
Which holds the weight of all the world
As does the soul of every man born.
Oh, the stone for which you stand
and the ever yearning mortal soul
Share much in common as do air
And sea, for as stone is the flesh
Of the earth so mans' hopes and dreams
Are the flesh of all the world
